MPC Münchmeyer Petersen & Co. GmbH's origin goes back over 160 years to the year 1846. Originally operating as two separate trading firms, Münchmeyer & Co. and R. Petersen & Co. earned worldwide recognition at an early stage, thanks to their remarkable achievements in foreign trade.
In his capacity as Managing Partner of R. Petersen & Co., Axel Schroeder senior merged the two firms into MPC Münchmeyer Petersen & Co. in 1972. Today, he and his sons, Dr. Axel Schroeder and Dr. John Benjamin Schroeder, and Mr. Clemens Weber jointly manage the family-owned company, which is divided into four divisions: Capital Investments, Shipping and Shipbuilding, Commodities and Machinery as well as Consumer Goods.

In the Shipping and Shipbuilding division, MPC offers a wide range of services including supply and financing of material packages for international shipyards and ship building projects as well as engineering services.
These activities are managed by MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Marine GmbH. Today, the company co-operates with shipyards in over 20 countries world-wide. Technical expertise and a background of a strong holding company form the basis of the company's success.
In 1999, MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Steamship GmbH & Co. KG was founded, to manage the Group's shipping activities.

The Capital Investment division currently comprises the biggest part of the MPC Group.
Since its establishment in 1994, MPC Capital has grown continually and dynamically and is today one of the leading providers of innovative and high-quality investment concepts in Europe, developing and marketing a wide range of real estate funds, ship investments, life insurance funds, private equity funds, structured products (notes and certificates) and investment funds.
MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Capital AG was listed on the Frankfurt and Hamburg stock exchanges on September 28th, 2000 and is part of the SME-Index SDAX.

Trading activities within the Commodities and Machinery division are being conducted by the internationally renowned Coutinho Caro + Co. International Trading GmbH (CCC International), founded by the Coutinho family in Hamburg in 1895, and an extensive network of affiliated companies.
Along with international trade in non-ferrous semi-finished products, CCC International's affiliated companies trade bulk steel (Coutinho & Ferrostaal GmbH & Co. KG) and handle the delivery and financing of machinery, plant, tubes and tubular products (CCC Machinery GmbH).

The Consumer Goods division is represented by Siemssen & Co. GmbH, a supply chain management and brand management company, which bundles MPC-Group's services and activities in the fashion segment.
With its subsidiaries Greystone Group, Venice Beach and Do You Football, Siemssen develops and markets a broad range of branded and non-branded ladies', children's and men's fashion and sportswear.
The services offered cover the entire value-added supply chain, from product development (design, technical specification), sourcing and production control to logistics and after-sales-services.
